Dr. Siew-Pang Chan has been awarded the prestigious joint award by QAHE and AUBSS’s Distinguishing Professorship Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of industrial and systems engineering. Dr. Chan, who holds a PhD in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore, is known for his expertise in the field and his dedication to teaching, research, and volunteer work.

Dr. Chan’s academic career began in 2006 when he was employed as an Associate Lecturer at the SIM University, Singapore. He quickly rose through the ranks and was offered a full-time appointment as Lecturer, Head of Statistics, and Acting Head of Business Analytics in 2007. Dr. Chan has also taught statistics at La Trobe University in Australia and at several institutions in Singapore, including Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and NUS.

Dr. Chan is also a qualified arbitrator and has actively volunteered as an appropriate adult and welfare officer since 2017. He has also served as an expert witness in the Singapore Supreme Court in 2010.

In addition to his academic and volunteer work, Dr. Chan is also an avid reader, writer, and lifelong learner. His long-term aim is to read law and function as a competent legal practitioner after retiring from his full-time employment.

The joint award QAHE and AUBSS’s Distinguishing Professorship Award is a highly respected honor that recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields.
